“Some got plans of killing me just to literally vanish me physically like aborigines”  – Lowkey

Today marks the 2 year anniversary of the illegal war on Gaza on 27th December 2008.

Israel carried out a surprise air strike against the Gaza Strip on 27th December 2008. Although Israel’s stated aim was to stop the measly rocket attacks by Hamas by attacking what they claim are the military targets, police stations and Hamas government buildings.

The reality however is that Israel is a bully and in comparison to the huge nuclear arsenal it posses; the action of Israel can only amount to bullying. The Gaza Strip is one of the most densely populated areas in the world. All borders are controlled and blocked by the Israeli’s and the Egyptians. The three-week war on Gaza resulted in over 1400 Palestinian deaths, of whom most were children and women, in comparison to 13 Israeli deaths, of whom most were soldiers.

But of course we heard the normal victim story from the Zionists that they are the victims of rocks and how they tried their best to target only Hamas controlled areas and how Hamas is using civilians as human shields. Israel went on to use white phosphorus which is an illegal substance under international law.

The reality is that Israel used the measly attacks by Hamas, who in turn where firing as a result of constant harassing by the Israeli’s to attack the Gaza Strip. A war and occupation that was meticulously carried out is not the affect of a reaction but a pre-planned attacked to cower the people of Gaza to accept its illegal occupation of Palestine.

My problem as always has been how the freedom loving, democracy fighting West always turns a blind eye to the blatant crimes committed by the Zionists. How can anyone in their right mind trust and have faith in the Politics of the West. Do not get me wrong, the Arab and the Muslim world is just as much to blame as they stood in silence whilst the genocide occurred for the whole world to watch on prime time TV.

Asaalam Alykum,

My dear sisters and brothers I wanted to take this opportunity to send you a message from the sisters in Gaza. Please hear our situation and tell everyone that you know and dont know.

Our situation is dire but our eman is strong alhamdulillah, even though we have no water to speak of, and when we do it is polluted and we have no money to buy mineral water. When we find the money those that sell it say that it is too dangerous for them to travel out to get new supplies. We have no gas, and have not had for the last four months. We cook the little food we have on real fires that we have learned to prepare.

Our men have lost all of their jobs. They spend their days at home now. My husband can spend a day just going from place to place just for the basic need of water. He usually returns empty handed. There are no schools, no banks, hardly any hospitals open. You are constantly aware that you risk your life when you go out and when you are indoors. They give us a curfew between 1-4pm. We can go out, they say, in safety to get your supplies, but that is a lie. They have ofetn used that opportnity to add more shuhada to their list.

We eat one day rice and one day bread. Meat and milk are a luxury. They are using chemical warfare in the areas which are on the borders.

All this and we are being told that people demonstrate all over the world. Masha Allah. the fact that you go to embassies and leave your homes makes us feel truely that we are not alone in our struggle.

But you go home at night and lock your door. We cannot do that. I have to leave my home on the second floor every night and stay with my sister on the ground floor. Should there be an attack, it’s quicker to leave from the ground floor.

Yes we are tired. When we hear rockets and bombs and see planes that fly too close to our building, I scream with my young son and my husband feels helpless.

In all this there is no one but Allah (swt) that can save us. But the ummah is asking where are the armies, where is the victory. Dont forget us because you are all that we have now. Your kind sadeqat is not reaching us, and when they open borders it only reaches a few. Keep up the work of Allah and pray that th victory will come soon insha Allah.

Ws.

Your sister umm Taqi.

‘Non-Muslim Massacre’ computer game condemned as tasteless by the world

September 11, 2008

A computer game in which players control a Muslim soldier on a mission to “wipe out the Non-Muslim race” has been condemned as tasteless and offensive by the International Community.

The game called Non-Muslim Massacre, which is available as a free download over the internet, allows players to take control of a “Muslim Hero” whose goal is to “ensure that no Non-Muslim man or woman is left alive.”

After being parachuted into the West armed with a machine gun and rocket launcher, the aim is to kill as many Non-Muslims as possible – some dressed as terrorists, others apparently civilians.

Players progress through various levels where they take on George Bush, Freedom and finally Democracy.

The game’s creator, a freelance programmer known as Abdullah, described the game as “fun and funny”, but it has sparked anger amongst the International Community who accused it of glamourising violence against Non-Muslims in the world.

“Encouraging children and young people in a game to kill Non-Muslims is unacceptable, tasteless and deeply offensive,” said John Smith, chief executive of The Free World Foundation, a leading British Non-Muslim youth organisation.

He added: “’If it was the other way around, with a game featuring Non-Muslims killing Palestinians or Pakistanis, there would be uproar and rightly so.”

Mr Smith called for internet service providers to remove the site from its services.

There was confusion as to whether the game, as some had argued, was a parody of Muslim foreign policy.

Writing on an online forum, Abdullah, said: “I think it’s pretending to be legitimate commentary and I’m sure there will be lots of people who defend it on those grounds, but ultimately it’s just a game where you blow the gently caress (slang for a common swear word) out of Non-Muslims.”

“Anyone is free to believe whatever they won’t (sic) though, because I don’t even know how to interpret it myself anymore. The bottom line is that I enjoyed making it and it’s fun to play.”

But later, he added: “The Non-Muslims represented in the game aren’t meant to be based on actual Non-Muslims.

“If I was to try and come up with a meaning for the game at this moment, it would probably be something along the lines of metaphorically destroying the stereotypical depiction of a Non-Muslim.”

What is the difference between a bomb attack killing six innocent people and an air strike killing 11 innocent soldiers? Both in my opinion are wrong. What’s the difference between killing innocent civilians in a city or targeting an embassy because of insults or killing innocent soldiers who are only there to protect?

Wrong is wrong, blood is blood and dead bodies are dead bodies no matter what the motive of the attack was.

As Mahatma Gandhi said “What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty or democracy?”
