My thoughts

Wikileaks is a non-profit, non-government organisation which believes that transparency forces governments to act responsibly. Here are the latest leaks:

1: Corruption within the Afghan government, with concerns heightened when a senior official was found to be carrying more than $50m in cash on a foreign trip:

At least now we know where all the money is being spent when it comes to War On Terror (WOT). People are just being bought out to fight America’s war. Soldiers and innocent people are dying to remove one corrupt government to another.

2: Bargaining to empty the Guantanamo Bay prison camp – including Slovenian diplomats being told to take in a freed prisoner if they wanted to secure a meeting with President Barack Obama:

So this is how America deals with it’s mistakes; by bartering for seats next to Obama. Maybe they should have opened an e-bay account. They might have got better offers from other satellite nations.

3: Germany being warned in 2007 not to enforce arrest warrants for US Central Intelligence Agency officers involved in an operation in which an innocent German citizen with the same name as a suspected militant was abducted and held in Afghanistan:

This sounds like a scene from the film Godfather.

4: US officials being instructed to spy on the UN’s leadership by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton:

Wow we all knew that the UN was an extension of American foreign policy tool but this only illustrate how trusting America is of her Allies.

5: The very close relationship between Russian PM Vladimir Putin and his Italian counterpart Silvio Berlusconi Alleged links between the Russian government and organised crime:

Ahh, yet another scene from a gangster movie where one mobster belittles another.

6: Yemen’s president talking to then US Mid-East commander General David Petraeus about attacks on Yemeni al-Qaeda bases and saying: “We’ll continue saying the bombs are ours, not yours” Faltering US attempts to prevent Syria from supplying arms to Hezbollah in Lebanon.

This comes as a surprise! NOT. This is not the first time nor will it be the last time where America will keep funding and supplying both sides of the war.

So what is the response from American administration, the so called leaders of the democratic world? Hilary Clinton argues that “This disclosure is not just an attack on America’s foreign policy interests,” she continues to say that “It is an attack on the international community: the alliances and partnerships, the conversations and negotiations that safeguard global security and advance economic prosperity.”

If this is not enough the French President Nicolas Sarkozy argues that the website was a “threat to democracy”.

Here is my final comment: ‘Democracy = Hypocrisy’

It’s thanksgiving in America today which is celebrated on the last Thursday of November. Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful, dutiful to god, although it has now become more of secular celebration. So what is the story behind this? Long story cut short is that the Plymouth colonists (also known as the pilgrims) and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast to celebrate a successful harvest. After that for more than two centuries, days of thanksgiving were celebrated by individual colonies and states. It wasn’t until 1863, in the midst of the Civil War, that President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day to be held each November and President Frankiln D. Roosvelt approved it in congress 1941 to be held on the last Thursday in November. My only question left to ask is ‘I wonder if the indigenous people of America celebrate Thanksgiving?’

A British couple were ordered to serve a month long sentence for kissing in public and pay a fine of £200 for drinking alcohol in public. Mr Ayman Najafi, 24 has been working in Dubai for over 14 months and Ms Charlotte Adams, 26 was on holiday when the incident occurred.
The incident was reportedly highlighted to the police by a 38 year old Emirati woman, who felt that the British couple were behaving indecently in public.

Now here is my problem with this:

1: Dubai (UAE) has placed itself as the hottest tourist destination in the Middle East, inviting and attracting people from all over the world. What do you think would happen when you’re marketing your country as a free for all and a haven for sun worshippers?
2: Alcohol is widely available in the UAE and is even consumed by its own citizens. UAE even has its own brewery in Ajman.
3: Lets’ face it if an Emirati has accused a non-Emirati, there is very little chance of a fair trial.

I am sorry If i sound a little annoyed but I cannot stand double standards. All of the above 3 points reap of hypocrisy. If you want to be Islamic, then why pick and choose the commands of Allah? Why sell your country for a few dollars? Why discriminate against the people that built and are building your empire?

The Indian government has requested an official explanation from the USA about why Shah Rukh Khan, a famous Bollywood star was detained and questioned by the immigration. Shah Rukh Khan believes that he was stopped for having a Muslim name.

Read more about the news here.

My concern is that why does this make headline news when these types of occurrences happen everyday around the world, because people have Muslim names. This is a very common practice in the USA, where people are questioned for hours because of technicality of names. Has the USA not upgraded its intelligence? In the case of Shah Rukh Khan, they only had to Google his name and they would have known who he was.

These types of stereo typing used to happen in the USA during the cold war and during Nazi Germany. Why has the world gone silent now?

Josef Fritzl - A face of evil?

Josef Fritzl - A face of evil?

Is this is the face of evil or a face of a man who believes in an idea called ‘personal benefit’?

Josef Fritzl kept his double life a secret even from his loved ones for over 25 years. Neighbors, friends and of course the world was shocked at the revelations that Josef Fritzl had kept his own daughter as captive in his cellar and fathered her seven children. He had virtually used his daughter as a sex slave for his own pleasures.

His defense team and the world is looking for answers; how could this happen? There must be something wrong with him.

I think the point is simple and clear. He was a man who believed that his personal benefit took preference over others. He ensured that his desires were fulfilled at all costs. Is he the only one to be blamed for his actions? Or should the society also bare some responsibility?  If an idea that can be used to such extremes should be revisited and the society also should be held accountable.

The world and in particular the West is also responsible for such actions as they are the propagators of such ideas as personal benefit. It has been the cause of wars throughout the 20th century and continues to cause misery.

American F-16's used by Zionists wreak havoc in Gaza

American F-16's used by Zionists wreak havoc in Gaza

Israel decides to bombard the Gaza Strip with the help of its American supplied F-16 bombers. At least 225 innocent people were murdered by the Zionists occupiers, mostly if not all were policemen, women and children. Over 700 are also reported to be injured by the air strikes.

Israeli PM Ehud Olmert has said that the operation “may take some time” and “It’s not going to last a few days,”. Mr Olmert continued to argue that “You – the citizens of Gaza – are not our enemies. Hamas, Jihad and the other terrorist organisations are your enemies, as they are our enemies…”They have brought disaster on you and they try to bring disaster to the people of Israel. And it is our common goal to make every possible effort to stop them.”

What ever the difference with the group of Hamas, it was and is an elected group that was chosen from its citizens. The only disaster that the people have witness is from the Zionist occupiers and this attack today is testament to that aggression.

Further reports suggest that the Israelis’ actually demand a harsher response towards the Palestinian people. This sentiment in Israel has produced further support for the Beiteinu Party which takes a hard-line approach on Gaza.

Will the World condemn the attacks by the Zionsist occupiers? Will the World denounce support for Israel for murdering civilians in such a manner?

No the world will listen and go to sleep again whilst the aggressors continue to cause havoc in the region. The West who claims to be the beacon of justice and equality has and continues to stay silent over this and other atrocities committed by their friend Israel. Will the world condemn and boycott America for support and harboring a terrorist state?

I guess not, same as always.

It’s a sad state of affairs.
